Once you are parked:
- Turn off your engine
- Engage your emergency break
- You may unroll your windows, but do not open your doors
- In order to access the soundtrack:
- Turn your ignition to the first ACC position where only the radio works
- This often also turns on the headlights. Be sure to manually turn them off
- You will be given a radio station to turn to which will play the soundtrack
- Turn your phone to airplane mode so as not to be disturbed by outside texts, etc
- If you need to leave in the case of an emergency, flash your headlights repeatedly. The show will be paused and you will be guided out of Verona
- You may take photos/videos, we would just advise that you not let it distract from your live experience
- If you post anything on social media, please tag us at #SONDERimmersiveSLC, and/or #ThroughYonderWindowSLC
- At the end of the evening, do not turn your engine back on until specifically instructed to
Through Yonder Window is a blend of an immersive experience and a theatre-in-the-round play:
- It is a very large space
- There are multiple things happening at the same time
- By design, there is a lot that you will, and will not see
- Each parking spot highlights different aspects of the many stories
- The show has been designed so that each car has a full, albeit a very different, experience
- On the east side of the lot, you are in the church and will see a lot of Friar Laurence and Maria, Juliet’s nurse.
- In the middle, you are in the city and will see a lot of Tybalt and Mercutio.
- On the west side are the Montague and Capulet homes, and you will see a lot of Lord Montague and Lady Capulet.
- Romeo and Juliet move evenly throughout the entire space.
Scene By Scene
Verona is going through a tough time. Generations of disease have decimated the population, and life is now driven by a language of quarantine and distance. To touch another person risks bringing ruin to yourself and your household. Which means love must be controlled, and The Montagues and The Capulets are determined to control it.
But love is a disease far more insidious--far more contagious than any other, and Verona is just about due for an outbreak.
