SONDERimmersive is
EXPERIENTIAL
You do not sit in a theatre, but rather navigate a three-dimensional world, engaging up to all five senses, making individual choices. SITE-SPECIFIC
Each show tells stories specific to and fully occupying its unique location. Whether a nightclub, a chocolate shop, a parking garage, or a zoo, it's like being live inside of a film, where you are the camera, and you choose where to focus. PHYSICAL THEATRE
We immerse you within these worlds of unique stories through movement, text, original music, location, tangible objects, and spacial design. *All within safe practices during times of COVID

SONDERimmersive, based in Salt Lake City, Utah, was created in 2019 as the vehicle for choreographer Graham Brown and creative partners to create new works of immersive dance-theatre.
The company takes the name of Brown's first fully immersive project, Sonder, which was produced in 2017 by Sackerson and occupied the Eagles Hall building in SLC (now Cafe Molise) for a 6-week sold out run of shows.

For a company whose work is defined by intimate proximity and physical touch, COVID has changed everything. When the pandemic hit they went to work figuring out how to embrace safety measures as a creative parameter to continue producing live performance. Therein was born Through Yonder Window, a drive-in immersive retelling of Romeo & Juliet, that ran for three weeks in the parking structure at The Gateway, and will return in April presented by Utah Presents.
"Enlivening... Visually absorbing"

"Like nothing I have ever witnessed"

Their most recent COVID safe production, THE CAROUSEL, ran through November 2020 at the Dreamscapes immersive art exhibit. In groups no larger than four at a time, audiences have a dream-like experience being guided through the exhibit, meeting characters along the way. Each is inspired by the room that they occupy. THE CAROUSEL will re-open in the new Dreamscapes location this spring.
New projects in 2021 include The Lost Generation an immersive dinner theatre experience at Cytybyrd restaurant available for booking now, and The I in Animal occupying the Hogle Zoo, opening in May.
